Matt, My Dad, My Brother, Louie, and My Dad's dog Rufus went on a vacation to the Outer Banks! It was absolutely great!! From walks on the beach, watching Louie swim in the ocean, fishing, riding bikes, eating fresh delicious seafood, relaxing on the deck, reading a good book, shopping around the island, celebrating David;'s birthday and eating LOTS of ice cream every night.....it was wonderful and well needed :)
The first two nights we were there it was just Matt and me. We enjoyed our "second honeymoon" and really treasured the time together. Ocracoke Island has it's only little culture and it is truly an escape. All the locals bring their dog everywhere and rarely wear shoes, cats roam the island, everyone is very friendly and extremely laid back. Most cellphones don't work..including ours. No one is in a rush. The island has 13 miles of beach with no houses or anything. You can drive your car on the beach and many horses live on the island...oh and ducks too. If you haven't been to Ocracoke I would highly recommend it and can't wait to go back!!!
Some things the Lord shared with me while I was there...
- God is so big and powerful yet cares about the small details. Looking out at the ocean one morning I saw all these shells in a million shapes, sizes, and colors. Each one is beautifully uniquely made. Wow to think He made this huge ocean and beaches and then made these little tiny shells. Oh how he loves us! The Lord doesn't forget a thing and made this earth so beautiful for us.
- Our relationship with the Lord is a love story. He pursued us and is madly in love with us. He will never let us go.
